Simply start counting calories and work out more will help your loose weight. This is because you eat less calories than you need in a day, or create a calorie deficit by exercising. Right? If you believe this than you and I are in the same boat. But we are wrong!
While reviewing the book “The New Rules of Lifting” I was reminded of this myth. That technique is tricky, it works initially, but for the wrong reasons and usually you will gain the weight back – some gaining more than they lost. Basically you slow down your metabolism, when what you want to do is speed it up.
It may sound counterintuitive but you want to burning calories by eating right, eating more and exercising. There are even certain foods you can eat that will help you burn more calories (protein) and I am not talking about celery. If you eat smart and eat clean you could do without counting calories.
Tips for Good Nutrition
– exercise and pick something you enjoy
– eat things in their more natural state, avoid processed items
– calculate your calories needed in a day, count calories if you want (do it at least for a week so you understand how much food you need to eat)
– don’t loose weight by lowering calorie intake and working out (read “The New Rules of Lifting” for more details – and the best gym workout ever)
